This is the fourth turtle I've reviewed from Playmates new TMNT line based off of the upcoming Nickelodeon animated series and the ninth figure I've reviewed in the line. Not much more here to say but I really like these figures. While these are mass market released toys aimed at kids rather than collectors, there are plenty of things to like about them. The turtles are definitely the best of the series, with the other figures ranging from good to pretty so-so. Here's a look at Leonardo: The Facts: Articulation: peg/hinge ball jointed knees, peg/hinge ball jointed thighs, peg/hinge ball jointed shoulders, peg/hinge ball jointed elbows, swivel wrists, ball jointed neck. Accessories: Curved sword, short katana, long katana, detachable sheathe, 3 kunai, 2 throwing stars, dagger/shiv. Positives: *I absolutely love the look of the Turtles in this line. The proportions, the colors, and the individuality of each turtle. There are no reused parts! Leonardo has his own unique dents on his chest, skin texture, and build. The head sculpt utilizes the all white eyes look under the bandanna, like most comic portrayals, which looks awesome. These might be my favorite TMNT figure ever. *Leonardo is loaded with accessories. His 3 swords are all unique and molded nicely in a grayish/metallic plastic. They are not flimsy at all. His kunai daggers, throwing star, and shiv(?) can be utilized in a number of ways to augment his primary weapons. *The articulation on Leonardo is certainly not "superposeable" but you're going to have enough to get some great poses. The figure is solid and durable, so you can fool around with this toy all day long and not worry about it breaking. That can't be said for many action figures these days. Negatives: *I'm really not sure what the little dagger/shiv is supposed to be. It's a pretty nondescript accessory that at first looked like waste from the plastic sprue the other weapons came attached to. Overall: Reviewing all of the Turtles really hasn't left me with a lot of new things to say, except for the fact that I love these guys quite a bit. They're without a doubt the best mass market action figure releases you'll likely find this year.
